Who we are

This website is run by Sandwich Lawns, a sole-trader business in Sandwich, Kent. We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at hello@sandwichlawns.co.uk or 07763 100477.

What we collect

If you use our contact form, we collect your name, phone number, email address, the address and postcode of the lawn, the service you are interested in, the lawn size if you give it, and your message. We use this to reply to your enquiry and arrange any work you ask for. We do this because you have asked us to, and because we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries. We send the form to our business email through an email delivery service that acts on our behalf. We keep a record of enquiries, chats and our dealings with you. If you would like your own record deleted, contact us at hello@sandwichlawns.co.uk and we will do it.

If you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email, we use your details to reply to you and arrange any work you ask for.

Server logs

The site logs basic request information (standard server logs) for security purposes only.

Website statistics

We count visits to this site, for statistics only, using our own counting tool. It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, any campaign label in the link you used, your country (approximate) and whether the visitor looks like a person or a robot. To count unique visitors it uses an identifier. We do not share this data with anyone except our hosting provider, which stores it on our behalf. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If you click 'Don't count my visits' in the footer, we remember your choice in this browser with one small local-storage flag called na_ignore; our counter stores nothing else in your browser. You can object at any time using the link in the footer, or contact us at hello@sandwichlawns.co.uk. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our site.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a visit.
  • To remember you if you book again.
  • To invoice you for completed work.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it with marketing companies, and we do not put you on a mailing list.

How long we keep it

We keep job records for as long as needed to manage the work and meet HMRC record-keeping requirements (usually at least six years).

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict how we use it, and to object to our use of it. Where we process your information based on your consent or a contract, you can also ask for it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email us at the address above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Third-party links

Our guides link to outside sources, such as the Royal Horticultural Society and GOV.UK. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them.

Changes

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page.
